It had been a few months since I'd met Carlos and Lindsay in person, and sure we had emailed back and forth a lot since then, but it wasn’t until I saw Lindsay step out of her jeep that I remembered how beautiful she was… Wow! My smile grew bigger and bigger as I greeted them and began looking at their outfits for the shoot and talking about the funky locations I’d scouted out for the day. I knew we were going to have an amazing afternoon together.
Carlos and Lindsay do not have the typical love story….no, rather it took patience, after all, the timing had to be perfect….and in the end, things fell into place just they way they were meant to be.
These two went to high school together and even though they had a lot of mutual friends, they never really talked much. It wasn’t until 2005 they ran into each other again and exchanged brief hellos. The interest was definitely sparked and neither of them could forget the person they’d just met…met for the second time…. Lindsay found herself lost in thought, “Wow, I can’t believe I never batted an eye at him in high school, he’s so cute!” There was something about Carlos….there was something about Lindsay….and that brief conversation stayed in their minds for years to come.
Their paths crossed again a couple years later at a wedding; Lindsay knew Carlos would be at the wedding and she couldn’t wait to see him again...and Carlos stared at her almost the whole evening. I highly doubt it was coincidence that he ended up behind her in line as she was waiting to refill her wine glass….and again they reintroduced themselves a third time… from then on the night was filled with sweet conversation and laughter…and in the end Carlos built up just enough courage to ask Lindsay for her number… but Lindsay didn’t hand out her number quite that easy…there needed to be a little bit of a chase…however, it wasn’t long until Lindsay got tagged with a message from a friend that said, “Carlos won’t let me sleep if I don’t get your number for him.”….and of course, she happily obliged. It was at that time that their love story officially began, and the rest is history in the making…
Lindsay loves the way Carlos smiles and laughs and when I asked Carlos what his favorite thing about Lindsay was I thought he’d say it’s her beauty, but of course, that’s a given…Carlos said his most favorite thing about Lindsay is that she treats him like a king, yes, the way she looks at him, it gets him every time. At our photo shoot together I got to see and hear Carlos’s smile and laugh and yes, I saw how Lindsay looks at Carlos…their love is genuine and you can clearly see these two are best friends.
On August 1, 2009, these best friends will be joined as husband and wife at a gorgeous outdoor ceremony to be witnessed by close friends and family...and I'm honored to be their photographer and document this important day for them....the continuation of their love story...
